RC Dub is a 6 piece group based out of Lincoln, NE. Equipped with a bold horn section, and a plethora of vocal harmony, their special blend reggae has been a staple on the Lincoln music scene since their emergence in 2003. Originally formed by Emily Madison (aka Goldie) and Calen Olivetti, RC Dub has continued to spread their unique socially conscious music to regional and national audiences.
RC Dub’s extensive repertoire spans from the traditional rocksteady and ska of the reggae legends from Treasure Isle and Studio On, to jazz-fused stylings of roots, dancehall and dub. Armed with such an arsenal of reggae, RC Dub plays all night until the lights come on. Their 2005 release, “Inna State of Dubmission”, has received rave reviews from such installments as Beat Magazine, and aided the band in earning the Independent Artist Registrys title of “Top Independent Band” in 2006, along with international radio play. The band has shared the stage with such acts as The Wailers, HR (of Bad Brains), Calton Coffee (of Inner Circle) and Germany’s own Dr. Ring Ding. Set to release their sophomore album in May 2009, RC Dub is continuing their forward momentum and shows no signs of slowing down.
RC Dub is:
Calen Olivetti – Trumpet, vocals, perc, melodica
Emily Madison (Goldie) – Bass, vocals Dave Hansen – Guitar, vocals

Born and raised on the island of Trinidad. (Walter Alan Shields) aka Waltah PPK, vocalist/songwriter was involved in music from an early age. Strongly influenced by his mother’s passion for music, he began giving performances as a pre-teen on the steel drum, piano and singing in choirs.
Waltah migrated to the US as a young adult, where he completed his college studies. During this time the island of his birth had become infested with violence, corruption where many still fall victim to an unjust political system. This turn of events called him to return to the stage driven and compelled to be a voice of awakening, inspiration and truth.
In 2004 Waltah was an original member of The Elementals, a local MPLS band that infused reggae, funk, rock and soul to create a sound that was new to the Minneapolis/St. Paul music scene. Always delivering music with a positive message, the band gave performances with international reggae superstars Lucky Dube (R.I.P) and Yellowman as some of their most notable highlights.
In 2008 the Waltah PPK band was created. Pocketed in traditional Reggae and Dancehall riddims and original lyrics, the message is clearer then ever. Love, Equality and Justice. A hip shaking collection of fresh songs, with lyrics that inspire the listener, packaged in a debut solo album titled “Love Above All”.
Accompanying him are band members:
Ryan Ward (Fly Ry) - Guitar
Keith Raney (KMan) – Bass
Andy Deckard (Randy) – Drums
Together the band delivers passionate grooves that target the soul, move the body and inspire the mind.
Waltah’s vision is simple and clear: "A world extraordinary with beauty, covered with compassion for bredrin and sistrin, where love supercedes all notions of envy, greed, anger and hatred. Where judgment is discharged from it's current rank, so that we can watch the line of division, simply disappear. The heart that beats as ONE is finally realized by ALL.”
Seedlove is proud to contribute to a growing network of conscious midwest artists.
We embody electric, powerful live shows full of soulfully inspired poetry interwoven through sweet "humm along" jazz riffs and humid roots rhythms. Music that is surely danced and enjoyed by all listeners!
With gratitude, we pay tribute to all positivity and potential that you, just by reading this profile, are a part of and should be proud to be. We hope in the next year to make many impossibilities possible and ignite the fire, spirit, and works of music in every place we visit.
The Irietions are a Lawrence KS based reggae band. Their sound is influenced by roots music of all kinds, ska/rocksteady/reggae, made famous in Jamaica. For over a year now they have rehearsed and performed through blood, sweat, and herb smoke to get where they are today, and where they hope to be tomorrow.
With the exception of an occasional special guest, The Irietions are a 6 piece band with two guitars and vocalists, two percussionists, bass, and keyboard. Brian Tiemeyer and Evan McGuire alternate between lead and rhythm guitar, as well as vocals. They are also the primary songwriters for the ensemble. Keeping everything in sync is Ben Hirschfeld laying down the bass line, and Justin Barnett on drums. Filling in the rest of the band’s sound is Roland Mitchel ..board, and Brian Kackler on auxiliary percussion. The music is highly influenced by the sounds of Jamaica, but is written with a keen eye on the here and now. The music conveys a message of peace, and living a fulfilling life that is full of love and happiness.
10 years have flown by since I first dropped a record on the platter. Since the first dirty house parties in Lawrence KS, DJ battles, early gigs at the Brown Bear Brewery and the Jazzhaus, gaining residency at the Granada Theatre for a few years, on to my current gigs I've been playing with reggae bands all over the midwest the wheels of steel are still turning strong.
DJ Jabberock has shared the bill with numerous talented artists over the years including, 77 Jefferson, Jah Roots, Ossie Dellimore, RC Dub, The Irietions, Seedlove, Part One Tribe, Nama Rupa, Tech N9ne, 7 Fold Symphony (Approach, Brother of Moses, Negro Scoe, and Kool DJ Rebel), Archetype, Johnny Quest, Bucho, DJ P, DJ Mike Scott, DJ Spinstyles, DJ Proof, Dizzy Blazo, and Cee Geez.

Sean Spinelli aka Shitty Ranx, first caught the power of jamaican music as early as 5 yrs old. "My parents are old hippies and would play alot of old rock n roll, psycedellic music, and some reggae. The reggae beat always stood out to me...it was different....plus, the album covers depicted these crazy snake-haired guys and always thought that was cool".
Around Early high school, through artists like The Wailers, Jimmy Cliff,Steel Pulse and others, discovered ska. "At the time most of my friends were punk rockers, and it was cool cuz rudeboys and punks could relate specially with music. What i really loved about ska & reggae is the peaceful yet militant message in its music". By late high school the love affair with jamaican music was full blown. Started to amass quite a music/book collection. Going to every show he could afford or was allowed to attend, he snuck in many shows being under age. "Junior Marvin from The wailers snuck me into the granada in lawrence ks,cuz i was only 16!".
Fast forward a decade, just as much a reggae nerd as ever....and through jamaican music i learned to appreciate all types of music. Catch me around topeka or lawrence at various bars or house parties mashing up the place wit everyhing from ska to ragga, rocksteady to afrobeat, punkrock to hiphop. The name derives from the Dancehall artists Cutty ranks who is one of my faves.
